BBC Sport secures coverage of major UK Athletics events in new Five-year deal with Athletic Ventures

Athletic Ventures and BBC Sport have confirmed a new five-year deal to broadcast coverage of the biggest UK athletics events, including the Novuna London Athletics Meet, until 2029.

This new deal will bring the nation together to enjoy world-class athletics for the next five years across BBC platforms – BBC TV, iPlayer and BBC Sport digital platforms – while ensuring the biggest moments in UK athletics remain free-to-air.

The partnership will include live and highlights coverage of renowned athletics events including the Novuna London Athletics Meet (Diamond League), Novuna UK Athletics Championships and Novuna UK Athletics Indoor Championships.

We are also hoping that - with Government support for the bid - we can bring the 2029 World Athletics Championships back to the UK, knowing that we can give it the best possible showcase with this partnership.”

This new agreement further strengthens BBC Sport’s athletics portfolio, which already includes the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, European Athletics Championships, Diamond League and London Marathon.
